njs[1] is a "subset of JavaScript language to use in NGINX". The primary dependency is dev-libs/quickjs-ng. The package consists of roughly two parts: libnjs (including libqjs), and the actual njs_module. libnjs is configured and built first in order to use the correct ar and explicitly control other options (e.g. dependencies like OpenSSL, zlib etc).
